8e89984360 sched: replace sync pause with async pause for nxsched_suspend
reason:
In the kernel, we are planning to remove all occurrences of up_cpu_pause as one of the steps to
simplify the implementation of critical sections. The goal is to enable spin_lock_irqsave to encapsulate critical sections,
thereby facilitating the replacement of critical sections(big lock) with smaller spin_lock_irqsave(small lock)

Configuring NuttX and compile:
$ ./tools/configure.sh -l qemu-armv8a:nsh_smp
$ make
Running with qemu
$ qemu-system-aarch64 -cpu cortex-a53 -smp 4 -nographic
-machine virt,virtualization=on,gic-version=3
-net none -chardev stdio,id=con,mux=on -serial chardev:con
-mon chardev=con,mode=readline -kernel ./nuttx

b4cc9fb11b sched: change nxsched_islocked_global to nxsched_islocked_tcb
reason:
1 To improve efficiency, we mimic Linux's behavior where preemption disabling is only applicable to the current CPU and does not affect other CPUs.
2 In the future, we will implement "spinlock+sched_lock", and use it extensively. Under such circumstances, if preemption is still globally disabled, it will seriously impact the scheduling efficiency.
3 We have removed g_cpu_lockset and used irqcount in order to eliminate the dependency of schedlock on critical sections in the future, simplify the logic, and further enhance the performance of sched_lock.
4 We set lockcount to 1 in order to lock scheduling on all CPUs during startup, without the need to provide additional functions to disable scheduling on other CPUs.
5 Cpu1~n must wait for cpu0 to enter the idle state before enabling scheduling because it prevents CPUs1~n from competing with cpu0 for the memory manager mutex, which could cause the cpu0 idle task to enter a wait state and trigger an assert.

07d5bc2c50 sched/semaphore/sem_tickwait.c: Fix nxsem_tickwait_uninterruptible end condition
nxsem_tickwait correctly sleeps more than 1 tick. But nxsem_tickwait_uninterruptible
may wake up to a signal (with -EINTR), in which case the tick + 1 must also
be taken into account. Otherwise the nxsem_tickwait_uninterruptible may
wake up 1 tick too early.

Also fix the nxsem_tickwait to return with -ETIMEDOUT if called with delay 0.
This is similar to e.g. posix sem_timedwait.

9de9f8168d sched: change the SMP scheduling policy from synchronous to asynchronous
reason:
Currently, if we need to schedule a task to another CPU, we have to completely halt the other CPU,
manipulate the scheduling linked list, and then resume the operation of that CPU. This process is both time-consuming and unnecessary.

During this process, both the current CPU and the target CPU are inevitably subjected to busyloop.

The improved strategy is to simply send a cross-core interrupt to the target CPU.
The current CPU continues to run while the target CPU responds to the interrupt, eliminating the certainty of a busyloop occurring.

3619e61c31 sched: adjust the scheduling strategy
1 Only the idle task can have the flag TCB_FLAG_CPU_LOCKED.
  According to the code logic, btcb cannot be an idle task, so this check can be removed.
2 Optimized the preemption logic check and removed the call to nxsched_add_prioritized.
3 Speed up the scheduling time while avoiding the potential for
  tasks to be moved multiple times between g_assignedtasks and g_readytorun.

7ff7f6ec21 wdog: optimize a bit speed in wd_start
After these wdog refactor:
We conducted a latency measurement using the rt-tests/cyclictest (commit cadd661) on an x86_64 NUC12 equipped with an i7-1255U processor and 16GB of LPDDR5 memory. The specific command used for this microbenchmark was cyclictest -q -l 100000 -h 30000, which is designed to assess the responsiveness of the cyclic timer.

The findings from our benchmark are summarized below, highlighting the minimum, median, and maximum latency values for each operating system tested:

Operating System	Minimum Latency (us)	Median Latency (us)	Maximum Latency (us)
Linux	            48	                    53	                410
PreemptRT	        6	                    57	                148
Xenomai	            53	                    53	                64
NuttX	            64	                    626	                1212
NuttX (refactor)	1	                    1	                3
In this table, "Min" indicates the shortest latency observed, "Median" represents the middle value of the latency distribution, and "Max" denotes the longest latency encountered.

The systems tested were as follows:

Linux: ACRN version 6.1.80 (commit f528146)
PreemptRT: Linux kernel 5.4.251 with the 5.4.254-rt85 patch applied
Xenomai: Linux kernel 5.4.251 patched with ipipe-core-5.4.239-x86-13
These results clearly demonstrate the varying performance of different operating systems in terms of timer latency, the refactored NuttX showing particularly low latency values.

cb5bab34f1 wdog: always ticks++ when wd_start
Now we have CONFIG_USEC_PER_TICK, and for our timer system, all the calculation used 'tick'.
And all the timespec should change to 'tick' before use wd_start(), so USEC2TICK() can NOT be avoided.

Then there must be an 'less then one tick' loss.

One resolution:
ticks++ anyway when wd_start(). But this will caused time expired more a tick.

Another resolution:
Change the testcase, and allow the following logic:

t1 = current_time();
sleep(3);
t2 = current_time();

allow: t2 - t1 >= 3;
(original test must be: t2- t1 > 3)

The original test think the time must be elapse-ing, and the (t2 - t1) must bigger then 3,
but in our system, we use 'tick' as the minimal wdog unit, then there must a precision loss.

Now we choose first resolution.

In the SMP, when a context switch occurs, restore_critical_section is executed.

427e5f18e8 irq: irq with the same priority share the same wqueue
reason:
1 We place interrupt handling functions of the same priority into the work queue corresponding
to that priority, allowing high-priority interrupts to preempt low-priority ones,
thus ensuring the real-time performance of high-priority interrupts.

2 The sole purpose of the interrupt handler is to wake
up the work queue of the corresponding priority and execute the interrupt handling function.

3 Compared to the functionality of isr threads, this
approach saves more memory, particularly when the number of interrupts is large.

7b02d788ef sched/signal: fix pthread_kill use after free
When a low-priority thread sends a kill signal to a high-priority thread,
the high-priority thread will exit and release tcb. When the thread returns
to the low-priority thread, it will access the released stcb.

6047a9fe14 task_fork.c: Fix vfork for BUILD_KERNEL
Two things need to be done when vfork'ing:
- Must attach to parent's address environment (the addrenv is shared)
- Must allocate a kernel stack (where would the register context go otherwise)

Note that this code assumes the address environment is shared, since we
don't support fork() which would _clone_ the address environment instead.

c1ceec3404 sched/Kconfig: waitpid() depends on SCHED_HAVE_PARENT if BUILD_KERNEL
waitpid() cannot be used in kernel mode unless SCHED_HAVE_PARENT is
selected -> add dependency if BUILD_KERNEL is selected.

Why? Because without SCHED_HAVE_PARENT waitpid() works in a non-standard
way, meaning it does not use SIGCHLD to wake the parent, as it should.

Also, returning the child status via stat_loc corrupts memory as stat_loc
points to the parent's address environment:

pid_t nxsched_waitpid(pid_t pid, int *stat_loc, int options)
{
  ...
  group->tg_statloc = stat_loc;
  ...
}

And later when the status is returned, the child writes to tg_statloc,
which points to the parent's address environment -> random memory
corruption:

static inline void nxtask_exitwakeup(FAR struct tcb_s *tcb, int status)
{
  ...
  if (group->tg_statloc != NULL)
    {
      *group->tg_statloc = status << 8;
    }
  ...
}

1b068b0d4b sched/irq: remove scheduling check in csection
1. The critical section does not prevent task scheduling
2. If the critical section is in sched_lock, there is no need to check,
   scheduling is not going to happen
3. If sched_lock is in the critical section, sched_unlock will also
   trigger scheduling without waiting for the exit of the critical section
4. After exiting the critical section, if there is an interrupt,
   the scheduling will be automatically triggered

09e5dca965 sched/pthread: detached thread should destroy the join info
In order to ensure the detached thread obtain the correct return
value from pthread_join()/pthread_cancel(), the detached thread
will create joininfo to save the detached status after thread
destroyed. If there are too many of detached threads in the
process group, the joininfo will consume too much memory.
This is not friendly to embedded MCU devices.
This commit keep the semantics as #11898 was introduced,
will no longer save joininfo for detached threads to avoid wasting memory.

feb6ede434 sched/cpu: replace up_cpu_index() to this_cpu()

23d65cb97f shced:sem: replace mutex with spinlock
The overhead of spinlok is less than mutext (mutex need to call
enter_critical section.)
After this patch, `down_write_trylock` and `down_read_trylock` can be
use in interrupt context.

The instruction is protected with mutex only one instruction so using
spinlock is better.
